One of those days

I consider myself a very lucky person. So I try to always look on the brighter side of things..kinda like the cup is half full mentality. This is very different then my view of life growing up. I was more of the glass is half empty type of teenager and young adult. So, every once in a while that negativity creeps in. So this is one of those weeks! Nothing seems to be working out right. I just feel like its bad news after bad news...So while this isn't a happy blog..I think its ok..every1 has those bad days or weeks..but Im hoping I get out of this yucky place soon and feel more like my usual self! Hope every1 is having a better week then me =)

So about a billion years ago- ok not a billion but a long time ago pirates came and docked at bayshore in Tampa and pretty much ruined the place. It was totally rummaged, burned and etc. So I would assume that the people at that time were not too happy about this. I mean if someone came and did this to my house I would be devastated. Well Tampa does not see it this way. Only in Tampa do they celebrate the fact that this happened. Im not quite sure why. Surprisingly not only do they celebrate this ransack of their town they throw 3 parades to commemorate this past event. The first parade was this past weekend where there is an air show where people actually jump out of planes , a huge 2 hour parade where they throw a million beads at us to catch with bunches of floats and marching bands and then to wrap it all up, a fireworks show!
It was actually super fun and the girls had a blast..my lil man even got in on the fun! =)
Next week is the daytime adult parade where it is legal to drink on the street!! It is similar to the kiddie parade cause there is about a 2 hour parade with floats and such but no kids...just alot of drinking and good fun. ( anyone wanna babysit so I can go...haha)The last parade is the f ollowing week where it is at night and it gets very RAUNCHY like mardi gras and it spells trouble..i suppose this is more sdimiliar to what the actual pirates had in mind..I will def not be going to this 1!!
OverallI think its a silly tradition but who cares..its a lot of fun =)

Gazelle

I am someone who loves to reminisce, about anything and everything. I love to think back to when my bff and I used to be silly teenagers and I would tell her I was going to have 2 kids named Crystal and John(haha)! Ilove to think about my very crazy college days, my wedding, having my kids and all of the amazing ways they have grown and changed. Overall, Im just a sucker for memories..which can explain why my house is cluttered with photo albums. Well a few weeks ago I was looking at old pictures and I def got to thinking about how much I used to care about my looks and health. I know it is partially superficial but b4 I had my lil posse I would obsess over my hair, clothes, body image and what I ate. While I was more concerned then about my looks, I tend to be more concerned now about my health. So I made the proactive decision to get back in shape. Probably not the stick figure I was at 21( lets b honest my love for chocolate is too great to ever give up completely =p) but I do want to make healthier choices and teach my kids how to as well. So I am on a mission to start eating better and excersicing more.
My lovely hubby bought me a ( just because I love you present) a Gazelle. This is similiar to an elliptical which is my absolute fave workout machine on the planet. A gazelle is def a bit lower impact then an elliptical..it doesnt have a resistance level other then what you can make it do yourself and it goes fowards and backwards as opposed to up and down. However, it is small and folds up right under my bed, still gives one hell of a workout and was an AMAZING price. Anyone looking to buy an inexpensive piece of workout equipment..I totally recomend it!! So this is step 1 of trying to be a healthier me!

TV SHOW HIATUS

So am I the only one who doesnt get all of these "fall finales" or " winter breaks" that all of the tv shows seem to be making lately?????? This annoys me for so many reasons!!!
A) When I was young the only breaks I ever remember tv shows having were the week of Thanksgiving, Christmas and 2 months in the summer. Thats all! Im certain that if we look at the dvd series from years past there will be way more many episodes.
B) I usually only follow around 2 shows at a time but over the past year have fallen in love with like 8 and my ocd self can only handle so much suspense.
C) It just makes no sense to me? All they have on is reruns and nothing else? How else can I bide my time? I know I sound crazy but Im sure these tv stars make way more then I do and should actually have to work for it!
Here are a list of shows that have caught my interest in the past 2 years
1) 90210- on break since start of Dec until I have no idea when
2) Melrose Place - on break since start of Dec until March 9th
3)Glee - on break since mid Dec until April 13th
4) Vampire diaries- on break since Nov 19th- until Jan 21st
5) American idol- only runs Jan-May
6) So you think u can dance- only runs May-Sep
7) Entourage- Who knows when that is actually coming back?????
8) Gossip girl- on break from start of Dec until March 8th

The most annoying part of this all is that all of these shows will only return for about 9 or so episodes and then go on break again from May-Sep/Oct...I apologize for the negative rant..it's just I do feel VERY passionate about my tv shows and I just can't help it!!

On a positive note...For Christmas Santa bought me season 1&2 of Gossip girl. I fell in love with the show instantly and watched both seasons plus the 12 episodes of season 3 in about a week! It is soo good. Why did noone ever tell me =p..but honestly Blair and Chuck are sooo amazing. Plus Chuck Bass is totally a Brian Kinney type of character which every1 who knows me, knows that Brian Kinney is my fave tv character of all time!! This has made me reminisce on older shows I used to love...maybe that is my answer hulu here I come..lol!

A new year!

So 2010 has begun and of course we all have high hopes for the year ahead of us. I am not one to make new year resolutions since I think that dooms us to fail at them. To much pressure on things we should otherwise be doing anyway. However, what else is there to do in January? First off, it is FREEZING..yes, even here in Florida! The holiday bills are coming in so the money comes out of our pockets and doesnt leave much for other fun activities that we have just done over the past 3 months. So we must get creative...So I have decided to get into new tv shows,( since all of my shows now seem to be on hiatus or "winter break" I thought only schools got such things =p) I have decided to read more ( got so many great books for christmas) and to excercise more...( gotta look ahead to beach weather) and My hubby finally bought me an elliptical. Since this mommy has no time to go to the gym, he brought the gym to me.. YAY!
As far as the kids..they will be doing similiar things...tv, reading, playing w/ their 9 million new toys and of course they need to keep up with their schoolwork and gym classes! So, we are going to try to make the most of this January and hope it goes by quickly...

Christmas!

We had 1 of the nicest Christmas day's that I think we have ever had. On Christmas eve Crystallia was pretty sick with a 103 fever so I thought it was gonna be a bust like last year ( both babies had the flu and were sick and miserable) However, come Christmas day she was in better spirits..still sick but at least the fever broke and she was excited. Christmas Eve was a nice dinner and we made hot cocoa with cookies for santa and watched the polar express. The kids went to bed SOO excited especially Nina and then the parents got to work. I went a bit overboard as always but it was SO worth it. Come Christmas morning all 3 of my kids were the most happy I think I have ever seen them. They loved all of their gifts( not a dud in the bunch, which surprised me since each kid ended up w/ about 35 gifts) John loved his dinos , cars and dragons..especially Kota!! Nina loved her zhu zhu pet madness and Crystal loved her dollhouse madness. What made me happy was not the "stuff' but the look on my kids faces. The magic in their eyes of thinking santa brought them all these goodies! The time we spent together will last a lifetime even though I know the toys will not!
The adults got some great gifts too..we must have all been extra good this year =p and dinner was yummy as well...although I ordered an eliptical because I think I ate about 10 dozen cookies this month..lol and need to get back on track....but it was worth it..the 10 lbs I'll lose but memories of cooking with my girls are priceless !
I hope every1 had a blessed Christmas like we did!! and now its time to kick in 2010!!!!!!!!!

GLEE FINALE!

Ok, I know I am almost a week late in posting this, but as I stated in my last post this has been a crazy month. ( Not to mention this house has been sick for about 9 days now) BLAH!
Anyway, the point of this blog is to discuss my fave show's fall finale. GLEE!
First, I will start on a positive note and discuss all the things I loved about this episode.

- Finn finally found out the baby wasn't his... Thank goodness!! When he was singing to that u/s a few weeks ago I just about died inside!
- Quinn is finally revealed for the liar she is ( I cant stand her) and is it mean to say I was happy that Finn beat up Puck? Now, don't get me wrong. I actually in a very weird way LOVE Puck's character. He adds a nice flavor to the show but he totally deserved a whooping from Finn.
- I thought that the sectionals competition was great. I loved the songs and thought they carried the storyline well considering the other teams stole their songs.
- Now I know most of you will hate me for saying this but I LOVE Sue! I love her, hate her..she is probably one of if not my most fave character. She cracks me up. When she told Will he boarded the Sue Sylvester train and the destination was HORROR...I just about fell off the bed in tears laughing!! Her character is one of the best thought out characters I have seen in a long time. While she is not a nice character persay..I dont think we should always just like the "good" characters. What I actually love about Glee is I dont think ANY of the characters are "good" or "bad". They are each SO complex and have their moments, so it's a constant flip flop!
Things I did not like
-Ok, u all know its coming but I just about threw up when Will kissed Emma at the end. I know thats what we were "suppose" to be routing for but I hate her. Her phobias are just plain over the top and she has been flirting w/ a married man all season who had a pg wife.( granted terri is crazy and wasnt pg but she didnt know this then) He hasnt even officially left Terri yet, and what is gonna happen with Ken now? Its just a very bizarre storyline n I did not want them to end up together. As far as Terri, I dont really know where this is gonna go either? Is she still gonna adopt Quinn's baby? Are they really over? I obviously dont like Terri because of what she did to Will but I do feel more sympathy for her then I probably should. I think this is due to the fact that Will is the #1 character that I flip flop about. He had feelings for Emma this WHOLE time while he thought Terri was pg. This just doesnt sit right with me and I cant help it!
- Finn and Rachel. It has been building up ALL season. While I didnt expect a big thing, I was more expecting them to have the finale kiss. The name of the show is Glee right? I assumed they were the main characters...not Will and Emma. It will be very interesting to see what happens next season with this couple. Especially now w/ the puck and Rachel fans growing. RThe writers did say they were gonna build this into the story now. I LOVE Rachel and Finn but wouldnt mind a Finn/Rachel/Puck triangle either =)
- It did feel anticlimatic.Kinda like Heroes first season....they built u up all season and the final kinda stunk..this felt VERY similar!!!
The main thing I dont like is..WHAT IN THE WORLD IS A FALL FINALE?????????? No other show I watch is doing this. How am I suppose to live w/o Glee for 4 months!!!!!!!!! I dont like this one bit. I think they will losea big fan base and putting it up against lost is a HUGE death sentence for this show...All I know is that they better not mess this show up cause even with all my loves and hates..this is the best show I have seen since QAF and that ended in 2005!!!!
